Expert Removal of old air conditioner units across Perth Metro
Mortarfix has been removing old, unused wall-mounted air conditioners from Perth homes for many years, restoring the face brickwork and interior plastered wall left behind. If you need aircon removal or want an old wall air conditioner gone without a mess, we make sure the finished wall looks as though it was never there.
You might know these as wall rattlers or window air con but whatever you call it, once it’s out you’re left with a gap in the brick outside and a gap in the plaster inside. That’s what we specialise in.
What's involved
We’re specialists in brick repointing and brick wall repair, so once the old unit and housing are removed, we match your existing brick as closely as possible, using matching face bricks that are tied in and reinforced wherever possible, then finish the mortar joints to blend with the surrounding wall. After the removal and brick restoration, we restore the internal plastered wall, so both sides look complete again.
Most jobs are completed in a single day. We’re quick, tidy, and leave no mess behind.
- Quick & tidy, leave no less
- external brick repair
- internal plastering
Plug-and-play vs hard-wired units
Before we can remove your unit, we need to know whether it’s plug-and-play or hard-wired.
- Plug-and-play units simply unplug so no extra steps needed before we arrive.
- Hard-wired units are wired directly into your switchboard and need to be decommissioned and made safe by a licensed electrician *before* we get there. We don’t offer electrical work ourselves, and for obvious safety reasons we can’t remove a hard-wired unit that hasn’t been isolated first.
If you’re not sure which one you’ve got, give us a call and we can talk you through it.

She took the initial call and followed up with suggested dates which were very dependent on the weather. She arrived promptly and repointed some old limestone mortar and replaced some bricks on both sides of my house. The work was finished in less than 6 hours and the premises left clean and tidy . I am delighted with the result and can’t thank her enough. Very professional and personable thoroughly recommend her.Posted on Google Richard ElseyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The full frontage of our 26 year old home is limestone. The mortar was fretting and a multitude of gaps opening up. Mortarfix came to the rescue and did an absolutely first class thorough job. I have no hesitation in recommending them.
