Specialised limestone repairs & repointing
Limestone is abundant in Perth and has been used extensively (and successfully) for over 150 years. Although it meets some engineering criteria, limestone is a very soft, porous media and requires periodical maintenance.
Mortarfix specialise in limestone repairs and repointing, rejuvenating your old walls and restoring their integrity.

A common problem with Limestone are lateral and settlement cracks
As with all brick work, the joints of limestone are required to be many times softer than the blocks or risk the blocks crumbling.
Limestone can also expand and contract with the weather, so incorrect hard cement mortars can act as a wedge to push limestone cracks further apart.
It is important that a correctly mixed mortar with a higher lime content be used for Limestone than the conventional cement mortars that are used for brickwork.

The full frontage of our 26 year old home is limestone. The mortar was fretting and a multitude of gaps opening up. Mortarfix came to the rescue and did an absolutely first class thorough job. We had Motar Fix Junior do some repointing and acid cleaning of a brick wall on the boundary of a property we recently purchased. The wall was fretting badly in parts, and previous attempts at rectification had only worsened the appearance of the wall. Nicole handled the entire project, from quotation to completion. She was very professional and pleasant to deal with, and diligent in her work. The quality of Nicole's work was excellent. We're very happy with the results, and various people in the neighbourhood have commented on how good the wall now looks.
